Are Duck Eggs the Answer for You?🦆

Updated: May 27, 2020

Some of you have asked when our duck eggs are going to be back in stock. Well, I have great news...the duck hens are laying again. Just like their chicken friends, ducks take a break from laying eggs at least once a year and sometimes twice. We have been experiencing a complete break from egg laying by our duck flock, but this molting period seems to be coming to an end as we our finding more duck eggs with each passing day. If you have been, like us, patiently waiting for our ducks to start laying again, the time is here!

And why choose duck eggs instead of chicken? There are a number of reasons, but here are just a few: First, duck eggs have a richer taste, making them a secret ingredient for bakers who want fluffier pastries and cakes. Second, duck eggs are BIGGER than chicken eggs. They are almost perfectly 1.5 times bigger. Have a dish that requires three eggs? You might be pleased with how well two duck eggs make the dish even better. And two duck eggs also make for the perfect omelette! Finally, the ducks making a home here at Jamieson Farm spend their days supplementing their non-GMO feed with grass from the pasture and algae from the pond. This means their eggs are packed with vitamins and nutrients to a degree that you will not find from store-bought chicken eggs.

If you have never had duck eggs, let us bring you a free dozen to try. We know you are going to love them!
